Application procedure

Read the list of documents which need to be submitted with your visa application based on your travel purpose and prepare the documents carefully. Please always choose the correct travel purpose.

The system will ask you to enter Email and password in order to correctly process your specific visa application.

The system will prompt you to enter some personal details in order to correctly process your specific visa application. If you are a member of a group of people applying for a visa together, please indicate on your application the names of those accompanying you.

Choose a date and time of your convenience to submit your application at our centre. Do not forget to print out your notification as it will be required at our welcome area.

Once you have checked in at our welcome desk, you will be directed to a counter where a TLScontact agent will check that all your required documents are present and compliant. You will receive a follow-up form showing which documents you have submitted and which, if any, are missing. If your application is complete, it will be sent to the Consulate General for processing.

Please note that you must submit your visa application in person at our Visa Application Centre unless you are eligible for an exemption.

All Italian Schengen visa applications must be submitted at least 15 working days before your intended travel date. Applications with a travel date less than 15 working days from the date of submission will not be accepted at the Visa Application Centre.

All applicants aged 12 or over must attend their appointment at TLScontact in person for biometric data capture and application submission.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment and bring your appointment confirmation and all required documents.

As soon as your visa application has been processed by the General Consulate of Italy in Nigeria, you will receive an email informing you to come to the TLScontact centre to pick up your passport. It is not necessary to contact our call centre unless you are in need of further instructions.

To collect your passport, proceed to TLScontact centre with your checklist and a copy of your ID card.

• If you wish to mandate someone to pick up your passport on your behalf, he should provide an authorization letter signed by you, your checklist, copy of your ID card and your representative ID card and a proof of family relationship if that's the case.
• If you have chosen Express Courier Return Service, your passport will be sent to the address chosen during the submission.
